i was think about getting a spider crab
are they aggresive and if so what are they aggresive towards?

Most crabs are aggressive toward any fish they can get their claws on. Spider crab can refer to various species of crab, do you know what type you are looking at?

Protein skimmers keep the water clean by removing organic waste. Most people say that you can't have a salt water tank without one but there a a few people who don't like them because they remove essential trace elements from the water too which have to be dosed back. If you don't have one then you need to have a refrigerum with macro algae or do frequent large water changes (which is expensive unless it's a small tank). If you want specific info on what brand to get etc, better to post another question about it as I'm not sure about that.
