I would like to put these in my tank but wonder if there is a food source for them. They eat gorgonians. I certainly don't have those.

It can be a cheap hobby. But getting pretty things that eat expensive things is where you would have to draw the line. Normal Reef Tank isn't all that bad, once you have the corals in hand. You odon't have to do much after that, water changes take care of most all the things your tank needs. you'll need Calcium and Magnesium, but other than that its just mostly cleaning.

What do they do? I'm definitely going the cheap route. First of all, my 90 gallon tank was GIVEN to me ready to go. All of my fish and critters have been collected by me. I'm getting my own ocean water three miles offshore for water changes. I'm worried about getting into corals. My tank needs to establish a lot longer for those and I could easily get carried away $$
I appreciate your advice. This is a nice forum. I popped into another forum yesterday that was not such a nice place. Last edited by Amazz : 12-04-2011 at 02:31 PM. Reason: added info |

You should be able to get into corals, if you buy just frags, they won't cost you a fortune. Just need LED's or a 6 lamp unit T-5 or 2 Metal Halides for your tank. And using Sea water is a gem, you got it made.
What do they do? Who? The snails? They will eat your soft corals, that would be an expensive snail. =)
