Default Emerald green crab w/ caulerpa

So a simple question, will an emerald crab eat caulerpa? I ask because he had done a great job cleaning algea and now its constant search for algae is tearing down my reef, so for the mean time til he gets a new home I would like to put him in my refugium which has a good amount of caulerpa which I don't want to turn into a food source.

Thanks

If you don't give him anything else to eat, its gone. They are scavengers.
