Petco is selling Chinese Algae Eaters as "community fish" for $1.00; however, the link below explains that CAEs are horrid predators and the very opposite of a community fish:
AlgaeEaterFAQs They recommend Nerite snails to control green algae. Does anyone know of a good local source for Nerite snails? |

Nerites are freshwater, but the eggs will only hatch in salt. The only place where I have found nerites is online. Not to many lfs carry them. You might check aquabid for them. Also AZGardens carry them but they have rather high shipping rates.
