Gold Coast Aquarium Society of South Florida - GCAS This forum is for all members and prospective members of the Society to stay in touch. The GCAS is a casual club of freshwater hobbyists of all experience levels who meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 7:30 to 9:30 PM. The meetings start with time to mingle, then a quick review of club business, usually followed by a presentation given by a club member or invited speaker, and finally an auction of fish, plants, and products. Usually we have coffee and cookies for refreshments.

Default live/frozen food for angels

I've been trying to find a better food for my angelfish but everything I've tried has not worked. I tried frozen bloodworms, tubifex worms, frozen brine shrimp, and live brine shrimp. Theyre constantly hungry and im trying to find something better than flakes thats all they will eat.

Yea if they can fit it in their mouthes... depends on what kind you try I guess.. Its high in protein so mix it with other foods don't use just beefheart every day.

AMAZON JUNGLE PETS FLORIDA GUPPIE- PLUS has beefheart flakes, so I was told. Maybe you should try that, if flakes are the only thing the angels eat. by the way, when I get new fish that don't eat flakes, they usually learn from the other fish that Flakes = food after a few days. that didn't work w/ my birchir, so I had to feed him the food it wanted. good luck!!

Danny beat me to it, but i was also going to recommend the beef heart flake. if you want something more local, omega one makes some good flake food as well.

hey guys, i recently heard that beefheart is being taken off the aquarium markets. Mammal meat will eventually hurt fish digestion.

they would love live worms and even baby guppies might stimulate them.

Kogo, you know as will as I do that things change in this hobby overnight, I read the same article had to do with ammino acids in the meat..... but as far as them being removed, I'd have to check on that, because as long as there money to be made someone will sell it.

I understand what you're saying and this may not be true in all fish cases, but for some fish it is deadly at a point and this can come very quickly.
