Gold Coast Aquarium Society of South Florida - GCAS This forum is for all members and prospective members of the Society to stay in touch. The GCAS is a casual club of freshwater hobbyists of all experience levels who meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 7:30 to 9:30 PM. The meetings start with time to mingle, then a quick review of club business, usually followed by a presentation given by a club member or invited speaker, and finally an auction of fish, plants, and products. Usually we have coffee and cookies for refreshments.

Default GCAS Everglades Fish Roundup and Barbecue

Sorry I had to miss out on the fun because of holiday obligations but hope to be able to attend next time. Anybody have photos to post of the fish caught? Report of type(s) sizes captured? Prizes awarded?

Will picture were taken by a member but I don't know if he uses this site.

As far as the fish caught, crayfish, blue fin killies and gold killies, I caught a cory cat and gave it to Matt for his classroom tank. everything on the list was caught by one team of another. Yes I seid teams the people that showed up were broken up into teams and give a list and a map and time to catch as many fish on the list bonus were give for the largest fish in a areas. It was alittle heckit during the judging but Matt, Myself and a really nice couple that drove down from Orlando won it by 3 points. As far as prizes it was stated that they would be handed out at the christmas party
