Question Water goes where?

Just trying to figure out some plumbing stuff. I uploaded a picture to my gallery so you can see my setup. I have the 12 gallon tank above, a 14 gallon sump underneath in the cabinet, and a refugium on the side.

Just wondering, should i plumb the tank drain to the refugium, and then to the sump? Or should I run a seperate pump from the sump to the rufugium?

Any input would be good.

Yes, I do plan to run a light on the refugium. And a cover to block tank light.

Hi,

I can't find your picture...I'm new and don't know my way around too well yet.

I can tell you how I have my set up. I have a Y (turn it upside down to see what I mean) The single line comes from my display and one hose goes to my refugium and the other goes to my main sump section I have a small chamber in the center for my return pump and a hose leading back to my main tank. (this would work for a two section sump as well)

I have my sump separated into three sections. The right side drains from my display tank, baffles (bubble busters) then my return pump...on the far left I have the refugium section, the baffles are taller and overflow into the return section.

I also installed shut off valves to be able to control the flow, I want a softer flow for my refugium for example.

I hope this helps.
