Default Need Help With Lighting

Was wondering if I bought the sunpod 20" metal halide if I still needed to have the power compact blue actinics. The sunpod will be going on the 29gal. biocube. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

You wont need actinics with the sunpod. It comes with a 14K bulb which is very blue. If you want more blue, get a 20K bulb.

With a decent 12k or cooler temp bulb you will not require supplemental actinic lighting.

Wink Re: Need Help With Lighting

YES, YOU COULD RUN WITH JUST THE 14K BUT i DID THAT AND MY SOFT CORALS DID NOT LIKE IT SO IF YOU HAVE ACTINICS YOU CAN RUN THEM MOST OF THE TIME AND THE 14K FOR A LITTLE WHILE. I WOULD GO WITH T5S.
