The red slime algae grows in areas of low flow and high lighting and nutrient rich water with phosphates. So you need to change those things to get rid of it. You can also use the commercial red slime remover products. Also you should check your phosphate levels and do something to keep them down.
The green algae also grows from the high lighting and nutrients (phosphates, nitrates, etc) in the water. Algae eating fish should graze it down also. What algae eating fish do you have? The fish in the tang family do well like a yellow tang or a scribbled rabbit fish, but the tank size is a bit small for them.. maybe borrow a friends small fish for a few days and give it back, something to think about. |

i have a very close friend at the fish store at fish's paradise think i could ask him for a borrowing him of small tangs and such to feed them so they don't starve but maybe not ill find out today about it.
I have a Koreana power head 1 would that create movement to help control it a little, would a really small baby blue tang be fine or would it stress out and die? RO water would that be good to use? does it not as much phosphates as regular tap or spring water. I know the nitrates is a little bit in ther from my BTA pooping the other day |
