I recently set up a 8 gallon biocube. I have had a 55 FOWLR for the last 4 years and i wanted to try and do some corals in this new tank.
Question: The first stage of filtration that comes stock is a very tightly fitting carbon filter. I understand that water has to flow through carbon slowly for it to be effective. However it flows through so slowly that the overflow is not breaking the waters surface and im haveing a thin film of dust/debri float on top of the water and me being very anal it is unexceptable. Is there any other filtration method I could use ( I would rather do away with the carbon all together) I know they make a protein skimmer for the 14gal would this fit in the 8 gal? Any suggestions would be wonderful Thanks~ |
