So what is everybodies opinion on them needed or not and why do you use them??? This is usually a hot topic on most forums but just wanted to here what everybody on here thinks.

I use a UV on my reef, I think its a good piece of equipment to run. I like the idea of killing free floating parasites and algaes, etc. If some food sources get nuked in the process, than so be it.

I keep one on one of my 75 gal just for the keeping down things like ich and such. Does a good job on maintaining a healthy tank.
