Here is just about all you could want to know about Turf Scrubbers.
Mega-Powerful Nitrate and Phosphate Remover Replaces Skimmer, Refugium, Everything - Reef Sanctuary I've decided that that will be one of my next projects (probably after I've changed lighting from MH to T5). I'll let you know what I find after mine's been running for a few months.

I really do feel they contribute to the overall health of your tank, how much at what cost, in money and effort, is my question.

Jim, I can probably do a bucket style for my tank for almost nothing. The basis is an empth salt bucket, some 3/4" PVC and a handful of elbows, end caps, a hose bib, a buck's worth of plastic craft screen, two clip lamps with bulbs, and a used maxijet pump. I've already got everything but the screen in my garage junk box. I guess if I had to buy everything new it would still be less than $50.

I predict it will amaze you.
But you could get some yellowing/greening of the water. But then I don't run an ats. Just a refugium full of macros. Keep us posted Best of luck
