Thanks in large part to help from other forum members I have narrowed my search down to two lighting fixtures. I have a 30 gallon tank and I would like anywhere between 4 and 5 watts per gallon (between 120W and 150W). I would eventually like to have a reef tank with live rock and soft coral.
Option #1 -Coralife Lunar Aqualight Compact Fluorescent Aquarium Lighting Fixture, 2X65W, 30" Option #2 - 30" 346W Metal Halide System Advance Plus The one thing I’m confused about is that 346W seems way too high for any 30” aquarium. Wouldn’t this amount of light be harmful for my fish? |

250 watt metal halide is a bit much for a 30 gallon tank IMO. If you can find a 4 Bulb T-5 unit that would be perfect!
