Default Recirculating or needle wheel?

I have a reef octopus rated up to 180. I want to upgrade but there's a lot to choose from. I'd like to stick with reef octopus and I'm looking at the octopus recirculating 200 which is rated at 300 for $335 or the 8" needle wheel which is rated at 250 for $280. Which is the better buy?
