Im thinking about buying one of these for my 75 gallon aquarium and dont know what to buy i got a 35 gallon refugium and i plan on putting it in there the two i was going to buy was swc xtreme 120 or reef octupus NWB-110 protein skimmer ?? and please explain why??

Never used the SWC, but I currently have the Reef Octo. and it works great. Takes a bit to dial in but once you get it, it pulls out all kinds of gunk. Probably the best skimmer for the price. super quiet, easy to clean and doesn't take up much room

How much water does the reef octo have to be in for its sweet spot?? and how often do you change the cup? and can i take the cup off when its on how does that work?

fw leiden since 1979, fo salt since 1979, mixed reef 55g 2002-2009. Strong emphasis on the tank taking care of itself. Balanced with plant life, no water changes, tap water, no filters in FW.
