If that is mv orp I think that is fine.
My orp drops when I add top off water with a bit of kalk. Like a teaspoon of pickling lime to a gallon of top off water. Orp drops from about 400mv to 280 or so then rises back up again. my .02

Wow that's a high orp reading. You want to be about 300 mv. Recalibrate your meter. If you're using an ozone generator independant of the meter, turn it down. Carbon will take up any excess ozone and lower your orp, if that's the problem. Aerating the water (protein skimmer) will do the same. I really think there's something wrong with the meter.
