Hello everyone its been awhile since I have been on here thanks to work, college, and of course the fish
So I have been seeking to upgrade my lighting to something better as right now I only have a ZooMed 2 lamp T5 HO fixture on my 75 gallon tank. I am set on the Aquatic Life lamp fixture because of its all in one design and price tag. The problem is I have no idea how many lights I need for my 75 and am not sure on whether I should get the 4 bulb fixture which I heard would be sufficient for most coral or if I should get the 6 bulb fixture which I heard would be great for any coral. Now I don't plan on making my tank a coral dominated tank but rather just have a few touches of coral here and there for aesthetic reasons, however I do plan on keeping a BTA, polyps, hammer coral, and pulsing xenia. I already have a couple species of mushrooms that seem to be doing well but I know they would appreciate a light upgrade and I do have a branching coral I believe the tag said kenya or something to that nature and it seems to be fully extended during the day on the sand bed. I am also considering some kind of clam to be on the sand bed as well. So based on what I am wanting to have in the tank which light system would be best the 4 or 6 lamp fixture? Thanks for your help ![]() |

You should be ok with the 4 lamp. The six lamp would be nice and allow you to add in a little extra actinic and a KZ fiji pink for even more color pop.

Kenya Trees don't need alot of lighting. Most softies don't. Your light eaters are going to be your Anemones and your Clam. I would recommend getting the 6 lamp fixture, as this will get you whatever you want to put in the tank without worrying about if you have enough light.
