Post Aqua-pod 12g skimmers?

I have a 12g Aquapod and I ordered a bio-cube skimmer but it doesnt fit, so I sold it, but does anyone know of a skimmer that I can fit in a 12g AP and still have my water level at top, also if their isnt one, will 2 in half gallon changes of water per week, be good enough without one?
