Don't know if you've checked it out, by try looking into your local Freecycle chapter. There's usually a group in the Yahoo groups section. If you don't have any luck here, you can try to post there, the whole point of the site is Free stuff so you never know. I've gotten a ton of things off of there.

Good Luck!

Nice Susan! Wish I lived closer to you!

Djstephen, sorry to hear you had to move and lost your tank - good luck in finding a replacement!

Time to look into the GERBER GROW UP PLAN! Leave him alone, there's no harm in askin for help. Worst thing that's going to happen is people say no, big whoop!

Jugglo (or is it juggalo?) -

People are entitled to ask for anything they wish, and be rejected or accepted. If you haven't noticed, there's no money in the resale of fish tanks and equipment ($1000 setups go for hundreds or less), so DJ's going to find something somewhere. Besides, the worst that could happen is he gets rejected.

Your quest to root out beggars is admirable, but in this case I think it's a lost cause. DJ is welcomed here and, well, you are not.

That is all.

Regardless, he does not need to spam the board up with the same thing.

It only takes once, not in every thread, that will get him banned for spamming. And I don't care if the other site said to do it, its irresponsible and unrespectful to other members here.

Also on another note,if he was truly trying to help then he would not have smart remarks to moderators of this board and would stop. This in no way helps anyone truly believe anything he says.

I just purchased an entire set up for my basement two weeks ago on craigslist for >$200.

55 Gallon Tank
Black wood Stand
5 Large decorations
15 fake plants
Gravel
Under gravel filter with 2 Aquaclear 70 power heads
Whisper 60 filter
Penguin Bio-Wheel 200 filter
Glass doors & hood light

I think its a pretty good deal - everything is in very good to mint condition.

Hunt around, there are some good deals out there. But if money is real tight, I suggest you wait. It's not exactly a cheap hobby.

Good luck.
