Does anyone know what these tiny white-looking specs are? |

If the tank is still cycling I would say it is a bacterial bloom. It is normal and will clear in time.

Kinda' hard to say without a picture...
Like Harveya said, if it's a cycling tank it's probably just a bacterial bloom. If it's done cycling... could it be minute air bubbles? I've got those from 2 filters and air stone in my 36g. Are they moving, like bugs would? There are a lot of minescule aquarium bugs that are harmless and can actually benefit the tanks.

Hello Axo...
Since these specks are a worry, I'd recommend a large water change. If you have a potential bacteria problem, then a water change will definitely help. I'd recommend removing the airstone, unless you really like it. It's of little benefit to the tank and if you have live plants, they'll do better with a little less oxygen in the tank. Provided you have a power filter large enough to support your tank, it will generate all the water movement your tank needs. B

Could be anything.
If these white "specs" appear to be swimming around, then I would say Copepods. |

Could be aliens. But yeah, it could be anything that has been mentioned already.

My votes on aliens.
Seriously it would be very helpful to explain the characteristics of the specks and a pic is worth a thousand words.
