Default What's the story with Bolivian Rams ?

I've seen very nice pictures of Bolivian rams, but know little about them.
- Can anyone tell me about them?
- Are they aggresive ?
- Can they be kept with what I have ?
- Do they breed ?

Because if they can be put with mine, I'll get a couple of them.

Bolivians, from what I know, are more on the more docile side of the cichlid family and need a good dither fish to help in their environment. With that being said, most all of the fish you listed would make great dither fish. Yes they breed; they are egg layers, and when they breed they become VERY territorial, so watch out! They prefer acidic (low pH), soft (low GH & KH) water, with lotsa plants and driftwood.

Google them to come up with some good fish profiles.

I'm considering Bolivians and GBR's for my ram biotope

I'm not sure about hte specifics on them, but I know a lot of people here have them as community fish and they are very beautiful.

I own one. Around feeding time he gets a little territorial, but other than that very peaceful and nice looking addition. Stays at the bottom of the tank mostly. They should work fine with what you have, I have mine with neons, silver dollars, and khuli loaches, as well as a red claw crab. I say go for it.
