Default What New Fish???

Hey Everyone. Since My Gourami Died, I Wanted To Get A New Fish.

I Have A 10 Gallon Fish Tank With Three Black Phantom Tetras. ( 2 Female, 1 Male)
Here's What I Was Thinking:
1 German Blue Ram Or Should I Get 2 Cory Cats Or Platies.
Tell Me Which Fish I Should Get Thanks!!!!

P.s. Some Of Ya'll May Say That My Tank Is Already Filled With And Blah Blah Blah....Well My Tank Is Looking Good And All My Fish Are Healthy. So If You Have A Answer Please Post, And If You Want To Be Mean Saying Don't Get More Fish, Then Don't Post. Thanks!!!!

~I'm Not Trying To Be Mean And Stuff, I Just Really Want A New Fish!~

didnt't you post another topic on this?

Aqua expert, the aquarium hobby is a fun and exciting hobby, but inorder to truly succeed in this hobby, you must understand that you should ALWAYS strive to make sure that your fish are happy. You cannot overstock. Trust me, I understand you want to put more fish in there. Im in your same position right now. I just bought a 56 gallon tank, and im beginning the long and tedious process of cycling it. Trust me... Not very exciting...

Platies would be great! A pair of them would be fine. perhaps a PAIR of swordtails could be a nice addition. Cories are truely great fish; very docile, easy to keep, and they are great janators. :-) but to be happy, they belong in groups of four or more.

If I were you, I would get either a PAIR of swordtails, Platies, or three guppies or so. (two female, one male.)

Remember, anything more would put stress on the fishes. But some platies would make a good addition. :-)

OH, and one more thing. German Blue Rams are hard to keep. They need a atleast a 20 gallon tank. They only live about two years, and they are ultra-sensative to water changes, so it is generally adviseable to try to stay away from them if you are new to the aquarium hobby.

Keep in mind platies and guppies are live bearers. You'll have numbers in your tank in no time. ;o)

Pygmy cories are hoot to watch...very active. Coming in at whopping 1", a school of four would be good and low bioload.

Just not too many stocking options with numbers for a 10g.

hehehehe whitedevel. a FEW new 10 gallons?

but yes, the guppies WILL breed, but most likely, if not separated, the guppy fry will be eaten my the parents.

I leave you with this: just make sure that you get pygmy cories. They stay small, about 1''. I personally like the Corydoras habrosus a bit more, especially the leopard cory habrosus.

Let us know when you get them!

The thing with cories is that they should be kept in groups of three or more.

It is time for the advice that you don't want to hear AquaExpert. You cannot reasonably add any more cories to that tank. I like the trilineatus cories myself but your tank is full.

He'll be "ok". Will more than likely be a little docile as he has no tank mates to mingle with.

Like what james said, he should be fine, but he will be a little docile and maby shy. It is a shame that your tank is not a little bigger.

ooohhhhhhhh....this might reveal the cory's true personality-i read in a book once that a bunch of a aquarists put a cory in alone for 6 months and they got a new one and the 1st cory wouldn't leave the others side for 24 hours! too bad your tank isn't a tiny bit bigger, or u could try this experiment yourself!
