Default What kind of loach is this?

I have a ten gallon tank that's been set up for a while. It is already a bit overcrowded because I had to move all my fish from the 20 gallon long when it sprung a leak, however, everyone seems to be doing ok. I have 3 harlequin rasboras, 4 black skirt tetras, one platy, and one loach. The thing is, I don't know much about the loach. It was kind of an impulse buy (the worst kind, I know) Anyway, its about two and a half inches long, and dark brown, and looks like an eel.

What kind of loach is it and will it get too big for a ten gallon tank? I have a 29 gallon in storage but was hoping not to have to set it up until I move, which will be a year or so.

Would be grateful for advice.

Try and take a picture of the loach. That the users can get a better idea of what the loach might be. :3

Sounds like the brown khuli loach. Would do fine in a 10. Need either sand or plants for hiding places. They get about 3 inches and you need at least 2 more as they like company.

Yes, he does hide. I've got plenty of caves and plants and things. Half the time I don't even see him, but he always comes out at feeding time. I think I"m too fully stocked to add another. what do you think? I could always add two or three more when I upgrade to the 29 gallon.

I think it might be a kuhli loach. In addition I cannot help but say that you do not have a big enough school for your harlequins.
