Question What is this huge snail?!

Gaaa! What kind of snail is this???

He's about the size of a marble. Must have come in as a tiny baby (or egg) on some plants. Haven't seen him (or at least not at this size) before! I've got a bunch of pest snails in the tank, but so far they aren't hurting anything.

Is he a plant eating snail?

Looks like a regular pond snail to me... it just got bigger than the rest. It won't harm anything.

Yep, Pond snail (Lymnaeidae sp.). I call these guys Viking snails because of their antenna. Love em. Much prefer them over Bladder snails.

I found a snail the same size and colour as that one, but the shell was more of a "Rams Horn" shape. Do rams horn snails get that size and that colour?

Rams Horns get bigger actually and can vary in color.

Alrighty then.... I'll assume that's what it is. It was stuck to the filter intake... I'm guessing it went to eat some sludge there and got stuck. I pulled it off and it was still alive, so I dropped it down onto the gravel and it slunked away.

Um.... they don't eat plants do they?

(I've also got some really sharp pointed snails in there as well - MTS? Grey in colour - but I was told those come in with water - carelessly scooped in by LFS workers - but... I don't put LFS water in my tank, so that can't be right...)

Hahaha - yep, they get you up at 6am! Thankfully they give you a voucher for a free coffee/tea and muffin at the coffee shop down stairs. Mmmmm! Tea and a Lemon/Cranberry muffin on the drive home! I was showered and home by about 7am and managed to stay up until around 9:30am then had to have a nap (as of course, I didn't sleep well at the clinic.) I slept until about 1:30, (so only 4 hours of real, good sleep) but got sooooooooooo much done afterwards! Had to run to a few stores to grab some stuff, got hair cut, cleaned bathroom, dusted apartment (and I mean with a Swiffer duster AND with Lemon Pledge, lol), vacuumed, dishes in dishwasher and dyed my hair. Didn't stop moving until about 8pm! Normally Mike does the vacuuming and we trade off the bathroom each time, but he was at 2 jobs today and I had the day off, so I figured I'd be nice and do his half of the chores so he can relax this weekend. I'm a nice wife! (Dye job didn't turn out exactly as planned.... but it's done so it'll have to do...) :D
