Default What to do witha 30g tank?

just bought a 30g tank for $20, which i though was quite a good buy, however, it hasn't got a lid, i really dont know what to put in it, i dont know much about cichlids, but they look pretty cool. im pretty sure i want to have a bristlenose pleco, but i dont think i should base the variety of fish around it. has anyone got any ideas?

A 30 gal doesnt hold as much as many people think it does. You would have to go with dwarf cichlids, and even then be careful on stocking. Remeber plecos are also very messy fish. Not that you cannot have one in there, just keep in mind its messy when picking the other fish you want to put in it.

ok, are cichlids reasonably easy to care for? do they need any special requirements, ive heard they are aggressive, does that mean it has to be a species only tank? one of the reasons i want to maybe get cichlids is because they are so beautiful, but i would like some fish to go with them.
