I have a 29 gl planted tank with 6 Serpae's and 3 pink cory's. My original thoughts were to add some Rummynose's. All the Rummynose's I at the LFS's have been really small. And I am a little worried about them getting picked on for now. I have been thinking about maybe some Black Neons the ones they have are nice sized.
Any thoughts or sugestions? I want the other school to have a differnt shape than the Serpae.

The black neons should be fine, just keep an eye out on the serpaes as they can be fin nippers if the group isn't large enough.

So are you thinking the Rummynose isn't a good ideal?

Rummynose would be fine, But would feel safer to know that they are big enough to not fit in the tetras mouth.

So I got 10 Black neons a few days ago. I didn't want 10 but they were 5 for $5 and petco's stupid policy wouldn't let me buy a couple for $5 and give them back the rest. Wanted full price on anything under 5. Anyways not really happy with these as they don't seem to school at all. Thinking about giving 5 to a LFS store and maybe getting 5 lemon Tetras or something.
I was thinking maybe the 29 gallon is a little small for a school of 10?

My 29 gallon I have 5 serpae tetras... and I have silvertrips, bleeding hearts, and a lemon tetra. they all get along great. No nipped fins. They all have the same behavior. we didnt realize the behavior of serpaes when we first got them. They arent suppose to be agressive. But we had to buy another tank just for them, and figure out what coudl get along with them. We have the random lemon tetra because when we bought the silvertips they threw in the lemon tetra for free. He wasnt suppose to be in the tank with them but apparently he was a jumper. lol

To me 20 fish sounds like a lot for a 29 gallon to me, but it sure doesnt look like it when you see them
