Not sure what you mean by "all in one" I'm not aware of a test that will test everything at once.
get the API master test kit. All the testing supplies for all the water parameters you need to monitor will come in the same box. but you do need to test each seperately. just dont get the paper type test strips. they arent accurate enough. |

The only thing I saw for that item that would be beneficial is the Ph test. It dosent say anything about testing for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates, which are the main concern.
The test kit i mentioned will have a Ph test in it. The other thing the item tested was temp. A thermometer in the tank will show you that. |

So the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) test is not required?

possibly for salt water. dissolved solids would refer to your waters hardness. It's probably not a bad thing to know what it is when you are deciding what fish to get. But it is difficult to adjust that. it is possible, but not a necessity.

TDS meters are great for testing RO water for impurities, but TDS has very little to do with the health and welfare of a tank which you use tap water in. I would suggest the API Master FW Test Kit as well, along with maybe the API KH&GH test kit.

I don't think a TDS meter is required, but I also think they could have their place. Just depends on how you use the info you get. I use mine on my shrimp tank to tell me when it needs a water change and I try to keep the TDS fairly low. I don't test my other tanks. Either way, not needed.

I ordered a TDS PH tester on one of the banners on this site yesterday on sale for $22 and delivered it was $29....regular price in mid thirties. I test for all other stuff with API kits, but I like to check PH a lot and it seemed priced cheaply enough and I know that particular model is a good one.

hi,
ive used the strip tests and found them ok for on the spot test but accurate enough so i turned to the API master test kit well worth the money and hell of alot more accurate than the test strips also get everything in the box so you will be sorted for many many tests. ![]()

API master kit is the way to go tests everything you need to worry about. Should run about $30, I hear walmart.com has them cheaper But personally I would rather give my LFS $35 than give walmart $25, Since your new at this you may find the directions a little confusing so I made myself a little cheat sheet and taped it to the side of the cover. Taped the color chart to the top and I'm set. When you compare the API to test strips you will see API is way cheaper in the long run, and alot more accurate.
