water loss
i have a 55 gallon tank with to 350 bio wheel filters with the normal lights that come with it and im having to add water like every to days is everyones else this bad to

How long do you keep your lights on? What is your water temp?

just when im home maybe 5 hours a day it stays bright in my room and the temp is around 74 to 75

I take it you don't have some type of top on your tank? Sounds like it... Get a glass top and you will not have that problem. Better in the Winter time to be covered anyway, IMO.

Okay. I add water all the way up to about 1" before I am watering the carpet. I never have to add water before my weekly water change. Not sure if that matches what you do or not?

It sounds like your fish are just very thirsty and are drinking more water than usual.
