Default Wall + water = bad

Ok so today a couple hours after I did a water change in my tank, I heard a drip.. I looked at the filter (that's usually where the leak comes from) and saw the leak and a water bubble in the paint behind the tank..eeek!
Does anyone know how to fix this? Can I just remove the paint bubble and dry it out and paint over it? We are eventually going to paint anyways but I wanted to temp fix it...

Do what Bev says... but you may want to find out why the filter's leaking. Mine goes up and over the top b/c I have a lot of media in it. I put a rock on the lid and it seems to keep things closed and dry. :D

If its still wet, pierce the paint bubble with a needle and inject a small amount of super glue. Then press gently with something flat and straight. (putty knife or spatula)

If the bubble is dry, or peeling/cracking, then get a small jar of premixed drywall putty/mud and a putty knife. Cut the paint blister all the way around the edges, just beyond where it is loose, just deep enough to go through the paint layer. Using the putty knife, spread a thin layer of putty over the spot. Wait unitl it dries, then lightly sand it so there are no visible edges.

Dust off the area, and paint with your matching wall paint.
Done properly, you will never know there was a problem there.

I'm not sure why the filter keeps over flowing. Its an AQ 50 and it seems to doit all the time. I woke up this morning and it's still leaking, now the carpet is wet and I lost abou a half inch of water in my 29g tank :( I'm gonna clen the media to see if that helps the issue... If it doesn't I may get a new filter because I'm going to put this tank in the newly built basement soon :/

As far as the filter is concerned it sounds like the sponge is clogged up. Try rinsing it in a bucket of tank water by squeezing the crap out of it repeatedly. I have 2 AC50s and never once had either one overflow.
The one really important thing that I did not see mentioned about your wall is if it is sheet rock, which it probably is, there is a good possibility that it could be wet. If this is the case make sure that it is not spongy to the touch. If it is spongy then it is most likely trashed and that portion of the wall will need to be cut out and have the insulation replaced as well as the sheet rock otherwise you could end up with a mold issue. This is a worse case scenario and is hopefully not the case. I just wanted to make you aware of the possibility could have a toxic mold situation.

I ended up cleaning up the filter this morning, it was pretty gunky. As far asi can tell the drywall is still dry, it's a little dam but because I caught it quickly I don't think it did any damage. I'm gonna let it dry overnight and see how it is tomorrow.

That's good. Even if you do have to repair the wall it is not difficult to DIY. I had a wall get soaked from the inside when a previous tenant decided to drill a large screw directly into the drainpipe that was coming from the kitchen sink when they hung a wire shelving system. It was pretty bad.

I would also check and make sure your filter is level. You can adjust with the tab underneath.
