I currently have an Aqueon 10 gallon tank with the filter that came with the kit. I want to upgrade to a 20 gallon filter. I'm assuming I will have a potential cycling problem, so whats the best way to handle this?
Thanks. |

Assuming you already have a tank that has been through the nitrogen cycle, just add the second filter to the tank and let both run side by side for about 2wks. Then you should be able to remove the old filter without any cycling issues. Just cut the flow back a little if it is too much for your fish.

I thought about that, but there isnt enough room to run both at the same time.

You can't even locate one to the side of the tank?

Its not much for looks but placing one on the front would help with the issue.I would place the new one where the old one is and place the old one on the side as Ben suggested or on the front. The lid wont close completly but unless you have jumpers its not that big a deal.
