Arrow Update: 55 Gallon.

Hello Everyone!

I have been busy these past couple of weeks and wow! My tank is a complete Success! My tank has evolved from a piece of garbage to absolute beauty. I have shrunken the massive overload of fish. I have gotten rid of everything except my cyan hap, gourami's, cory and pleco's. I have turned my tank into a nice rocky and cavey atmosphere for my cichlids.

Before I had two large pieces of driftwood that leaked alot of tanins and made my tank very dark. I was getting very fed up with people asking why the tank is so dirty and so i took it out and did several water changes and the water is back to crystal clear(almost).

I got a ton of wisteria free from an old Chinese guy and for a couple of weeks it just floated there and its roots started to grow so then i planted them into the substarte. Then another week went by and thought it was dying But then this past week it just EXPLODED. I went from 1 inch high wisteria to almost a FOOT TALL!!!! in a week! I have an underwater forest going on now! lol it's probably the soil i used!

Now onto the new fish. I got a couple of red jewels, convicts, 2 texas cichlids and 3 crayfish for bottom clean up duties.

Next week I am trading the texas cichlids for 5 Christmas Fulu Cichlids. They are the most beautiful fish I have ever seen. They are also an endangered species (is it illegal to own endangered species).

But this past week I have been stricken by every fish keepers nightmare,
Ich. I have been battleing this for about two weeks and gone through 2 bottles. 1 of quick-cure and ich guard. And it seems like it was going away and then it got really bad yesterday. I think it gets really bad when its about to go away is that right? They all got sick from my friend who I told to go put the feeder goldfish into my 10 gallon tank so they can get quarantined before i release them into my main tank. But no he thought i was talking about my 55 gallon so he dumped the fish and the water into it. At first I started doing the salt and high water temp. treatment and that wasnt work so i went straight for the meds.

But anyway everything else is going smooth!

Fulus aren't illegal, There are several different species of victorians, I keep 4 species myself all in different tanks. Vics aren't as aggressive as most africans but its best to keep them in a tank on their own if you are planning on breeding them.

You will continue to have problems in the 55g with that many fish - if your sig is correct. I guess you like spending money on meds and fish.
