Default Too many fish???

So far in my 30 gallon tank I have 4 zebra danios 4 Mickey Mouse platys and 2 guppies. I want to add two damnation mollies and 5 neon tetras. Will that overcrowd my tank??

I'm sure some people will tell you that these additions will overload your tank, but I think you'll be fine. My only warning is that Dalmatian Mollies can be jerks. I've only had one ever, so I'm overgeneralizing from a small sample, but he bullied a couple platies almost to death before I removed him. Neon tetras are great though. Colorful, active, friendly, you can't go wrong there.

In the old rule of 1 inch of fish per gallon you still have plenty of room. You have no bottom feeders so I would recommend adding 5 Corys and a couple of Otos.

If you get a filter that can handle fifty gallons, like the Aquaclear 50, and do 30% water changes, then..

You should be able to add an extra Zebra Danio to make them feel more like a school, and the two extra Mollys and the five Neons, and add 5 Dwarf Corys and Two Otos. (just make sure the Corys have a soft or sandy substrate) and get Algae wafers for the bottom dwellers.

Though you don't really need to the bottom dwellers and are fine with the fish you already have and are planning to get. Anything else and your tank will surely be overstocked.

It kind of depends on your setup. I'd say in a well filtered tank with live plants go for it. If you have no plants and a filter that came as part of a kit with your tank be a lot more careful about stocking. With fish like tetras it's better to have at least 6. 5 might be okay but I'd not do less like that as it might cause problems with shyness or fighting.

I don't know how many times I have to say this, but cories are not algae eaters and will only eat the algae tabs if nothing else is offered. They need things like shrimp pellets, blood worms and such.
