Default is there anything at all?

Hi all

I have just bought a jewel 260 litre tank with an external fluval 305 filter and was wondering if there is a quick way of doing a water change?

I have been told that you can use the fluval 305 filter system to take the water out of the tank ( water change ) though i wasnt told how, does anyone know how?

If not.. is there anything on the market that can do this?

At the moment i am doing it by a tube to a bucket, and putting it down the toilet, ( was doing this to my 125 jewel tank ) though now i have a 260 litre jewel, it will take ages...

Hope someone can help

thanks
Steve

Search Python. A hose goes all the way to your sink.
Using a Python Hose to Drain Water Out of a Fish Tank | eHow.com

I'd imagine you'd use the canister filter to pump the water out. So again, instead of the return line going to the tank, you'd need a looong hose going to the sink.

On my fx5 there is a valve at the bottom of the cannister that you can attach a hose to to drain water out of the tank with if I wanted. You have to remove the connection for the return hose, plug it in and the cannister drains the tank. But I feel its easier to just use a python for water changes.

that hooks on to your sink foscet, screw it to your foscet turn the water on and it sucks the water out of your tank, push the bottom back up and your fill your tank up, its really easy to use

So, ( my head is kinda not with me at the moment, but this one here:
Amazon.com: Aqueon 06111 Aquarium Water Changer Extension, 20-Foot: Pet Supplies

You put one end in your tank, and the other end connect to the tap in the sink, so how does the water come out in the sink? or am i missing something?

Thanks
Steve

yes one end hooks to your tap in sink where the water comes out, hook it up the water runs through it and comes out the bottom, on the side a hose comes out and goes to your tank that pulls water out, its a suction action, ill send you like on youtube you can watch and see how it works..
No Spill Clean & Fill Python Productss

watch the video at teh bottom

If you have a sink then you have a faucet.... it's what the water comes out of... are you saying your's is a different size than what's shown in the video?

You have to get adapters for it. It will come with one, but like mine the threads were inside of the faucet/tap I had to buy another adapter that I could screw into the tap and then screw the python adapter onto that.
