I have not personally used it, but have heard differing things about it. From what I understand it is another bacteria booster and IMHO I would not rely on it alone. if you decide to use it keep in mind that it might effect your test results some, at least from what I understand it can cause readings to not always be accurate.

Differing opinions on its effectiveness. Some have said it helped. Some will never buy again. It doesn't hurt anything to try it and if it helps...bonus. If not, you're out whatever it cost. I have used similar products once, but don't believe they helped.

I use TSS but ONLY to start a nitrogen cycle in a tank. It's not good to use to maintain a tank, only to start one.
You need to provide a source of ammonia for the bacteria in TSS or adding it will simply cause the bacteria to starve and die. TSS is not a magical "add TSS and fish and Presto!" miracle bottle, which it does say on the bottle. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS! TSS is a great product in my opinion, but it cannot completely establish the tank for you. The bacteria need time to colonize the tank and get busy on the ammonia. Also, on the TSS bottle it says "patent pending", which means it hasn't been verified to actually DO anything. However, in my experience, I have cycled tanks much faster with TSS than without. Keep in mind: I also use things like live plants, used filter media, elevated temperatures, etc. I think TSS is a great addition to the arsenal of tank-starting tools and tricks, but it is not a proven stand-alone tank starter and SHOULD NOT be used as such. Lastly, it's kinda pricey; Just my thoughts...
