Default Tank is GROSS!

I just vaccumed the gravel and did a 25% water change, and now all the nasty stuff is floating around. I figure I will check the water condition tomorrow after it settles. Also thought 2 of my 3 octo. catfish were dead, but after stirring up the bottom they appeared out of nowhere! I had just added 2 plecos over the weekend thinking they were gone, now I have to get rid of the extra mollies that are crowding the tank.

Did you rinse the filter sponge in used tank water? that should help in the filtering of your gross tank water.
Why on earth did you get two Plecos? I really hope you have a large tank. They will eventually get ginormous.

No, I didn't rinse the filter I never even thought of it. I asumed that they would be ok since I thought the other fish were gone. sounds like I made a mistake? Maybe someday I will get a bigger tank and move one into.

I just assumed that he got common ones. That's always what I picture when I see "Plecos" without the type of Pleco in the same sentence.

Common plecos get huge, and are messy. And they NEED to have driftwood in the tank for digestion.

There was a Common Pleco in a 65 gallon at my local Petsmart. He was roughly 12"L and about 3"W. He was almost half the length of the tank.
