My 55 gallon that i have been cycling with 4 twinbar platys is finally done. All the platys survived but unfortunately the fry that were born in the tank did not.
I got a couple new inhabitants yesterday.... A fine looking pearl gourami and 2 seargent major loaches. I was hoping to find a couple YOYO loaches but these are so similar I would bet that when I do find the YOYOs they will get along just fine. I've never seen this type of loach before and even the guy that runs the LFS is having a hard time identifying exactly what species this is. He said they came in on his shipping reciept as a "seargent major loach". Time to do a little digging and see what I can come up with. |

Quote:
Botia rostrata, also known as the ladder loach or the banded loach. max size is 8 inches. might have to move them to the 150 as they grow! description and behavior are virtually the same as a yoyo loach (botia almorhae) with the exception of max size being 6 inches with the yoyo.
