Hey I just got a 29 gallon tank and Im trying to decide on how I want to stock it. Im looking at a Dojo Loach to start of with (I have heard people say they work in 29 gallons and I have heard them say they dont) Clarification would be nice on that. Right now I have a 20 gallon tank with a Plec, a Sword, Albino rainbow shark and a cory cat. Im trying to find a good sized serpentine looking fish for this aquarium.

I know cory cats like to be in groups of at least 3 and preferably 6+ (if I am not mistaken). So I would start with getting 5 more of those and I don't know about swords or sharks. If that is a common pleco it will get huge and you may need a bigger tank for it.

Yeah its a common pleco I plan on getting a bigger tank when he starts to get bigger. I plan on going to get a couple more cory cats today or tomorrow. Hopefully it will calm this one down. What do you think about a dojo loach though? would he be fine in a 29 gallon tank?

I will say you can probably get away with it after some quick research, but I have no personal experience with them

Loaches also need to be in a school, and dojo loaches get to be 12 inches + so I do not think they are a good match for your tank.

Yeah I agree I dont want to keep cramped fish. I love the Vaillantella maassi loach but I know they are extremly rare. Also what about Kuhli Loaches they are noticeably smaller? I am also considering a long fin pleco for the 29 gallon tank. Is this to many bottom feeders?
