Default Slow the Flow

My wife and I just got a Penguin 150 filter for our 29gal tank. This is the 2nd. filter for the tank. It's a moderately planted tank with 6 female Platies in it. Is there a way to slow down the flow and if so how? It's not absolutely necessary to slow it down but I would like to know if and how it can be done.We will be adding 6 Neon Tetra's in about a week and a half ( after QT ).Thanks.

Default Re: Slow the Flow

Had same issue. I use a 45 gallon which filter 200 gallons per hour in my 20 gallon long that thing fires water out and that won't work with my betta so after experimenting with plastic bottles and everything I could think of I used a sponge made for a fluval canister filter and slide it between the top and into the water flow. The bio wheels spins great so the water is going in and it's nice and still. Works great. I also put some of the fluval bio material ...the little white marshmallow looking things in front of the cartridge which slowed it down a tad. Ps DO NOT USE ANY HOUSECLEANING OR KITCHEN TYPE SPONGES AS THEY ARE ALL TREATED EVEN IF THEY DON'T SAY SO. TRUST ME.
