Default slate

looking to get some slate for my 55 gallon tank. I want to stack some together to make some kind of rock formation. Where do you guys get slate from? All the rock i find on the ground around MT i think has lots of limestone in it (i live near yellowstone park). None of the 2 stores that carry fish supplies/fish here in this town seem to have anything, and neither do a couple of other LFS's here within a couple hrs.

Limestone is usually not found in an area with a long volcanic history, like Yellowstone. Slate itself is made up of mud modified by intense heat and pressurre. Slate sheets are often used to spawn Discus and Angelfish. Once the eggsd are laid the slate sheet is remove to another tank and the eggs hatched without the parents.

Try Lowe's or Home Depot in the garden/landscape section.
