Default shy fish

How do people handle feeding shy fish?
I have an american fresh water eel (Anguilla rostrata I think). That I am conserned won't get enough food. We up graded them from a 10 gallon to a 55 gallon and added a few more small fish because the tank looked so empty. I am a little worried that the other fish are eating all the food before the eel comes out to get some.

hmmmmm... i never dealt with any type of eel before. what food do you food him? i have a few corys in my 55g, and i feed them sinking pellets. check with your LFS and ask them if there is any type of sinking fish pellets that are suitable for eels...

then again, i know nothing about eels. sorry i couldnt help you with anything else. anyone else want to chime in?

Well generally he eats blood worms and brine shrimp. He also occasionally steals the alge waffer from the pleco.
but my main question is will shy fish starve them selves to death?
