Hi: Yesterday I went to a pet shop to buy some products for my 20gls tank.
I ask to add some Guppies with my 4 cory fishes ,4 tetra but the guy told me should not mixed the Guppies with them do to salt amount. He told me Guppies needs much more salt @ the tank than the others fishes,if I planning to breed them better be @ different tank. Is that true?

I got a mess of guppies in my big tank, started out with 10 and in 6 months had way over 200, there is also about 100 cories in that tank. No salt added.

I have read (somewhere on here, I believe, but maybe not) that while guppies don't need salt in their water, many pet stores use it, and it can be very hard on them to go from salty pet store water to completely unsalted home water. Like, fatally hard. I make no claims as to the accuracy of this, just that I've read it.

Like everyone has said, no, guppies don't need salt. Some people add a bit of salt to their tanks as a bit of a healing agent when their fish are sick or have damaged fins, and some fresh water fish like mollies do like a little salt, but you do not have to have it for guppies. (Salt will kill Cory's.)

If the lfs has some salt in the tank all that is needed is a slow drip acclimation and they would be fine.

Guppies don't need salt. They are one of the toughest aquarium fish and can survive in many different ph's and hardnesses. If the hardness and ph becomes too high the color of Neons will dim. For both Neons and Guppies clean water is much more important than ph and hardness.
