Question Question: How long should I wait to get a good water parameter reading?

I tend to wait 24 hours after a water change. But I was curious how long you all wait and if there is a minimum amount of time (scientifically or close enough).

Well I generally vacuum the gravel which stirs up some stuff. But yeah thats not a bad idea. I'll try that and post the results on here, I just did a water change.. Maybe it will be helpful in the future to someone else. I'm not in a terrible hurry to check my stats. I did not check before, but two days ago. AMM 0ppm, NI 0ppm, NA 80-160 ppm, pH 8.2

I have four amazon swords (one big, three small ones) and a little bit of small java ferns (5 sprouts). I have my timer set for 12hours. Never tried changing it, tho I have been thinking about letting it have more lights for my little otos to have some algae. I didn't know that light time could change the pH. My pH has been pretty high lately, not totally sure why. Unfortunately their won't be anymore tests as I broke ALL my my test tubes by knocking over my test tube rack with a loaf of bread.

There is a site that sells the testtubes in a 10pk. If I test after my water change, I just give it time for the water to fully turn over.

Could you give me a link to this site. I want 5ml test tubes with a good stopper and I can't seem to find them.

Well I've found plenty. The problem is I have a 1000, 500, or 100 minimum.

I already have a test kit
I'd rather not buy another one. But I may end up going that.
