I found a 75 gallon tank and stand on CL for $50. It is roughly 15 years old and is sitting dry atm. I am going to buy it for certain but need to know how exactly to reseal it if necessary. I have Googled it and need some clarification on the process. When resealing a tank do I leave the silicone that is between the glass intact and just scrape off the silicone that is on the surface of the glass or do i completely separate the glass at the seams and reseal it that way?

Just scrape off all old silicone, but not inbetween glass, clean good dry, reseal. If you use painters tape on both sides of each seam then seal, let sit awhile then pull tape you will have a nice even seam.
You an also use GE Silicone 1

If you do it...do a DIY thread about it and people will use it as a reference. Just a thought.

Absolutely. Providing I get the tank and it needs to be resealed. Regardless, A 75 gallon tank and stand for $50 is worth it no matter what. It needs one of the lids replaced and two bulbs, but other than that it looks good.
