New tank 10 weeks ago, past 8 weeks been fighting 4.0ppm and higher ammonia levels.... just 3 days ago, figured out the 4.0ppm was coming from my tap water. Used RO water for a 50% water change Friday night and saw ammonia level decreasing, still 0.0 on nitrites and nitrates. As of this morning, here are my readings:
ammonia = 0.50 ppm nitrites = 1.0 ppm (finally seeing an increase) nitrates = 0.0 ppm With my ammonia lowering and nitrites rising, I understand that's a positive thing for the cycle of the tank. From this point on, what should I concentrate on and what should be any red lights to watch for ? I'm as nervous as a new dad awaiting on the birth of a first child after finally getting this aquarium on take off mode !!!!!! ![]() |

looks like its doing what it should be, just watch the levels and keep with the water changes, i'd do maybe 10%-15% every 3-4 days as long as your levels dont spike up too high
