Winter is approaching and already the temps drop pretty drastically outside, inside my house I have a zoned heating system (the downstairs is one zone, upstairs is another) and each works off of a separate thermostat, so my usual habit is I turn it down to about 65 when I go to bed to help save on our heating costs. But now, with the tank, i'm wondering if that's something I shouldnt do? I turned it down last night and when I got up this morning the temp in the tank was down to about 70, normally during the day it's 74-78 approx. Of course this is a gradual decline over the course of about 6 hours, and then a gradual rise up again. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Go up one step in a heater, the one your using isn't doing its job.

When you buy a heater, it has to be based on the temp difference of the room and the temp you want the tank at. The greater the difference, the higher wattage heater you should get. For a 29g, I think you'd need at least a 150W.
What is the wattage you have? |

I don't know, it came with the tank when my friend gave it to me. I wonder if it says what it is somewhere on the heater....
