Default New heater.

Its time to get a new heater for my tank and im kinda weary about most brands i see when i walk into my LFS, there are 2 though that catch my eye and was wondering on any input, the heaters in question are the aqueon pro heater 50w and the Ehiem jager 50w, which would you choose? im guessing the jager?

I use an Aqueon Pro in my tank. I prefer that one mainly because it has no glass in it and it is clear as day if it is heating or not, red for heat and green for no heat. also like a lot of heaters it is fully submersible and can be used vertically or horizontally.

I do like that it doesnt have any glass, how accurate is it? jager claims to be accurate within .5 deg. and aqueon claims to be within 1 deg. the jager is a little cheaper but i might pay the extra few bucks on the pro so i dont come home and have some "unbreakable" laboratory glass heater crack on me lol, i also do like that is has a light for when its heating and when its not

As far as accuracy of the temperature goes my thermometer reads a degree lower than what my heater is set at. Keep in mind that it is a 75 gallon tank and the heater has 2 feet worth of water between it and the thermometer AND it is downstairs where it is about 60 degrees at the moment. Overall, I would say it is as accurate as it can be. I also have my heater next to my filter intake to assist in dispersing the heated water better.

I have both of these heaters and prefer the new Aqueon Pro over the Eheim, and I am a big suppoerter of Eheim products. I was just a little upset that they only went up to 250W.
