I started out with 4 Neon tetras and now I'm down to 2, I cant find any of them floating and i even took out the decorations and checked all the little crevices for my missing fish and couldn't find them. They in there with 2 black skirt tetras a serpae tetra two dwarf suckers and a zebra danio none of which have a mouth big enough to swallow the little neons unless i guess if they dried really really hard. I never thought of these neons as real jumpers so I don't know where they keep going

My guess is that they have jumped out of the tank, do you have a lot of open space in the top of your tank?

Tetras are indeed jumpers.I would search the floor.if you have cats then your search may be in vain.
Also note,if they died the other fish may have eaten the carcasses.

The other fish could have eaten enough that the remaining was small enough to get sucked up into your filter. Fish start to decay and loose color after only a very short period of death. I've never had any of mine jump and I keep my tank half open.

well i found one of them dead :[ and sadly both of my dwarf suckers are gone too! i found ones body but the other is just gone and i saw him yesterday so i don't think he would have had time to decay completely. my black skirt tetras seem to be getting a little bit more aggressive toward each other and occasionally the other fish so they might be the cause of these disappearances. also since the death of their little friend the two remaining neon tetras have been picking on each other.

The body of a small fish will disappear surprisingly quickly after it dies. I think you should do a 50% water change in case of ammonia spikes or other water problems. How long has the tank been running for? Do you have a test kit?

It's been running for two years and yes i do have a test kit. I changed some of the water and no other fish seem to be getting sick now.
