Default Need Urgent Help With Sick Oscar.

Im new to the forum and fairly new to my aquarium. I have a 55 gallon tank with a few different fish in it. I have an oscar, two silver something or others and four small zebra clowns. I have pictures i will post so you can see the two silver fish which i cant identify. Anyways hers whats going on.

My oscar fish has been fine up untill this morning. I noticed he was floating on his side. I figured maybe he was being lazy or something and i had to get to work. I fed them like normal but he didnt eat. I thought it was strange. At lunch timed he was laying on the bottom but moving around every few minutes. I could tell he was weak. When i got home he was floating on his side and swimming around spastically. He then started laying on the bottom of the tank. I noticed he has some weird marks around his head that look like the other fish have been biting at him. I researched this a little bit and it seems that it is a common sickness for Oscar fish and i need to treat him soon. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this? I need help.
Here are pictures of my fish. The zebra clowns were hiding when i took the pictures.
Apparentlly i cant post pictures yet. I will have them up in five minutes.

I think at this point its going to be a lost cause, its a shame. He does look like he has hole in the head and something else going on as the body has what looks like fungus. Its hard to tell as the pics aren't really that clear.

How can I treat him? This all happen within the last 24 hours. Last night I put epsom salt in the tank. Yesterday morning he was acting funny. But two days ago he was fine. What is the treatment for this?!

HITH is caused by improper nutrition and/or poor water quality. By the looks of the fish and description you have giving us I''m sorry to say IMO this fish is on his way to fish heaven.

There are numerous meds out there to treat HITH. Petsmart and Petco carry some of them. Like most things, the earlier you catch and treat, the better. Some people search and search, and then experiment with all kinds of supposed natural treatments, all the while the fish withers away because none of it is helping. I prefer to grab the med and go. Not many things, natural or otherwise, will work when the animal is too far gone. Daily observation of your fish is necessary in order to detect and act...if you're not already doing that.

I'd bet my government retirement that this fish is now part of the larger nitrogen cycle by now but the pic caught my eye. Oscar? Looks more Rift Valley to me. And aren't those goldfish in the other picture? Wow.
