I went outside just now and when i came in a found my amano shrimp laying on the floor. He must have been there a while as he was completely dry and hard. Has anyone had this happen with their shrimp(s) climbing out of the tank. Also where he was about 10 inches away from the stand i dont know how he got there.

I've had amanos jump when I had to remove them to deep clean tanks before...Mine always landed on the floor to, darn things! Never seemed to hurt them much, but they were out for a minute at most

Yep! Shrimps are AMAZING jumpers! They also will climb out of a tank and "go for a walk" sometimes.
Make sure your tank has a lid on it. If you have a lid, make sure the holes are covered - holes that are for airline tubing and filters and such. I had my husband take a grinder and custom cut the holes for my wires, tubing and filters so there is NO way anything can get out of the tank unless it swims up the fast waterfall output of the filter, crawls through the filter, across the underside of the lid and out.... not likely to happen! *Knock on wood, lol. You could try tossing him back in the tank (if it ever happens again.) Sometimes they aren't dead yet.

yea i do have a cover but the back is open. And yes i do have an airline coming out but that was on the way other side. Only other answer could be the heater which is on the side he was out, well i picked up 2 small shrimps so i am keeping a closer watch. Now im paranoid the others will catch on hahaha

It doesn't matter which side you found him on, they can travel quite a distance before they finally give up and die... they are silly creatures, lol.
