Default My glow fish was eaten by something in my aquarium.

Today I purchased five glow fish for my twenty gallon aquarium. For anyone who doesn't know glow fish are genetically modified fish that glow in neon colors. Already inhabiting my tank were two common kribensis, a gourami, and three gold/green corys. I came home and discovered to my horror that one of my glow fish had been devoured and was floating at the top of my cage with his head missing. The two kribs would swim up and nibble on him, so I am suspecting that they killed him. However, if anyone has had a similar experience or thinks one of the other tank mates killed him it would be good to hear from you. I also brought a loach home today, but he is too small (less than an inch) to have done the damage I think.
Right now the remaining four glow fish have been removed from the aquarium and put in a tupperware container (it's all I could find) with water taken from my tank.
Any advice is welcome.
Thanks!

The glow fish are modified zebra danios.

Cichlids are not supposed to be in with smaller fish like danios. Cichlids are aggressive and will kill smaller fish. If I were you, either get another tank and have one a tropical community tank and the other a cichlid tank, or consider taking either the cichlids or the danios back for a refund or a donation.

Sorry for your loss. In the future I would strongly suggest you research what types of fish you have and/or want to add to see if they are compatible. We're always here to help as well

If a human is 'swimming with the fishes' when they die...
Whats an appropriate saying for fish?

I'm agreed with everyone so far - my first thought was the Cichlids. I'm also in agreement that they are (or soon will be) way to big for a 20g tank, so maybe trading them in or re-homing them would be best so you can have a tropical community tank.

Sorry about your loss - never fun!
